What Climate SMEs Get From SAFFAL

Everything a climate founder needs between pilot and scale.

01

Structured capital access

Direct introductions to DFIs, impact investors, family offices, and catalytic donors already deploying through SAFFAL. Not a database. Not a founder directory. Real conversations with serious capital partners.

02

Investment-readiness bootcamp

A structured programme across governance, financial hygiene, pitch materials, capital stack design, data room prep, and negotiation. Built by operators and capital-side practitioners.

03

Blended capital structuring

SAFFAL helps shape the right mix of grant, concessional debt, equity, or blended capital so your raise becomes closeable for the investors you need to bring in.

04

Post-accelerator support

Graduation is not the endpoint. Founders continue to receive governance support, mentor access, follow-on introductions, and alumni-level community access beyond demo day.

How the Accelerator Works

Application to raise, in five stages.

SAFFAL runs structured cohorts - application, interviews, bootcamp, demo day, and post-demo support through actual deal-close momentum.

01

Application

A short online application covering team, traction, impact, and capital needs. Takes about 45 minutes. No fee.

02

Interviews & selection

Shortlisted teams speak with SAFFAL and a capital-side practitioner so selection reflects both business fundamentals and raise-readiness.

03

Bootcamp

A cohort-based programme covering governance, financials, data room, pitch, capital strategy, and one-to-one mentor support.

04

Demo day & introductions

A curated room of committed capital partners, with targeted investor introductions matched to your sector, stage, and raise structure.

05

Deal structuring & close

SAFFAL stays involved through term conversations, structuring support, and round-closing momentum rather than disappearing after demo day.

Who SAFFAL Looks For

What makes a strong SAFFAL applicant.

SAFFAL is selective but not narrow. We look for climate SMEs with real traction, credible teams, and businesses that can move beyond pilot into scale with the right structure.

Sector

Climate SMEs across clean energy, sustainable agri, low-carbon mobility, waste and circular economy, low-carbon tech, and adaptation.

Stage

Post-pilot with some commercial traction. You do not need profitability, but you do need evidence the business works in the market.

Geography

Based in or primarily operating across South Asia - India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bhutan, or the Maldives.

Capital plans

Typically raising between $[X] and $[X]M over the next 12 to 18 months - but the range is indicative, not a gate.

What we especially want to see

Women-led and gender-inclusive businesses

SMEs operating in tier-2 and tier-3 markets

Adaptation and resilience businesses, not only mitigation plays

Founders who have tried to raise and been told 'not yet'

Phase 1 Cohort & Graduate Outcomes

Phase 1 graduates. Real outcomes.

Founders evaluate accelerators on what graduates actually raise and how quickly they close. This section holds the proof point - use approved cohort outcome values as they are cleared.

What It Costs Founders

What founders pay - and what they don't.

The old pricing-tier framing is gone. Founders should see clarity here, not a subscription page. SAFFAL is free to apply to and free to join if accepted.

What founders pay

Nothing to apply. Nothing to join if accepted. No application fee, no programme fee, and no subscription pricing.

What founders commit

Meaningful time during the cohort. The accelerator is not passive - strong outcomes come from founders showing up consistently.

What founders keep

Your business, your team, your decision-making. SAFFAL supports the raise and governance journey - it does not run your company.

Who You'll Meet Through SAFFAL

The room you're walking into.

For founders, this is the real social proof: the investors, mentors, and peer operators they will actually meet through the programme.

United Nations Environment Programme
UN Women
Sweden
Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development
New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade
Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

Capital partners

DFIs, impact investors, family offices, donors, and corporates who actually attend demo day and participate in post-cohort conversations.

Mentor network

Operators who have built climate businesses, sector specialists, and capital-side practitioners who can help founders sharpen the raise and the business.

Alumni community

A continuing network for peer problem-solving, hiring, follow-on support, and shared momentum after graduation.

How to Apply

The application is open. Here's what you need.

About 45 minutes. No fee. We want enough information to assess seriously, not so much that the application itself becomes a barrier.

Before you start

Basic company information, team details, and operating footprint

Short description of the climate problem and business model

Current traction: customers, pilots, revenue, deployments, or users

Near-term capital need and expected raise shape

Pitch deck and financial snapshot if available - apply anyway if they are still rough

Application notes

The application is short-form and mobile-friendly. If your deck or financial snapshot is still rough, apply anyway - the cohort is designed to help sharpen that material.

Decisions should feel structured and timely. The strongest version of this page eventually includes live application dates and a clear review SLA once those are finalised.

Cost to apply: zero. Never a fee.

Apply to the next cohort.

If you're building a climate SME in South Asia and looking to move from pilot to scale - with structured support, serious capital partners, and a founder-calibrated community - we want to see your application. Free to apply. Free to join if accepted.
